I felt sad last nite for what happened in the Labor party - I have always respected Julia, who I thought was a very intelligent, strong person who never wavered from her beliefs for what she thought was right for her country but she unfortunately did not have the charisma for the general public that someone like Rudd has, so suffered the consequences. I am absolutley sure that she would have not had had the same treatment over the years if she was a man. I also believe that a lot of people are informed by pop media & not interested, or too lazy, to really know both sides of the story - I was very interested in Russell Crowes comments (& I am not a great fan) & the idea that we have been insulated by what has been going on in the wider world so have just been hearing Tony Abbott rant & rave about how bad the Labor Party have been performing over the years. Ask a true enviromentist what they think of the Carbon Tax - is it really the end of the word that we have it? Beside the fact that electricity prices had been rising for 4years before it was introduced people still believe it has been the cause of all their finanical woes - I could go on & on but I still believe in the polices of the Labor govt so will still be happy to vote for them in the next election!!
