I finally finished reading Stephen Kings The Shining and of course had to see the movie again since its been 18 yrs since I first saw it. What a disappointment! To me the movie failed in a lot of ways. I apologize to Mike Stein who had to listen to me moan and complain through the whole thing. Yes I loved the movie the first time I saw it but thats because I hadnt read the book first! So I went searching for other opinions. Im glad Im not alone! Stephen King himself made some great arguments as to why Kubricks movie didnt do the book justice.
