In Liberia, Protesters drive Ebola-infected patients out of health center, looted infected beddings Patients infected with deadly Ebola virus have fled from the quarantine center in Liberia’s capital Monrovia, following an attack by armed locals, who broke in shouting: “Theres no Ebola in Liberia.” While the attackers looted the hospital, up to 30 patients infected with Ebola escaped and presently remain at large. The danger is that if they get to the city’s slums, the number of infected might grow at a rapid speed and an epidemic could ensue. The looters also stole Ebola-infected blood-stained bedding. The men who broke down the doors of the quarantine center claimed that the country’s President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf had “invented” the disease because “she wants money.
