I finally got Chidi eating her pellets as her mainstay. She would always nibble on them a little bit but they are very hard and crunchy. She seemed to lose interest in them after a few nibbles and wanted lots of seed mix. I had an issue too where she was on nothing but Safflower Gold for a couple weeks cuz a Rat got into her bag of pellets and ate most of them so I threw out what was left. Caught me 2 Rats so far and I keep her food in the Fridge now. ;) But I wanted her on the Pellets as her main diet. I read several posts from people who said that their birds dunk their pellets in their water before eating them. Well I decided to try moistening the pellets for her and BINGO! She LOVES them now! Eats them up all day long and I know she is eating them cuz her poop changed. Much more solid and the color of the pellets. :) Much better nutrition for her. Makes me very happy cuz I was concerned I was seeing the very beginnings of stress bars on her feathers. Now she eats her pellets like a good girl and I am so happy that she is not refusing them. She also gets her fresh fruits and veggies. I snapped this adorable pic of her with a heart shaped pellet. She certainly does have my heart. Such an overwhelming feeling of love I have for this bird. Its crazy! I guess that makes me a crazy bird man? :p Crazy about Chidi thats for sure! :D
