I finally got hit with this little game, and my number is 11. 1.) I love manatees and I adopt one named Howie at Blue Spring Park in Florida. I chose him, because he frequently tips the boats of researchers, and watches them scramble for their expensive equipment. Thats my Howie. 2.) I fell in love with Hawaii when I first set foot on the islands in 2002, and couldnt have been more thrilled when I had the honor of speaking with a Pearl Harbor survivor at the USS Arizona Memorial. 3.) I was scared to death to jump off the diving board back in the 5 th grade, but 26 years later learned to surf on Oahus north shore. Progress. 4.) By the age of 25, I had been to Rome, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Venice, Dublin, Shannon, Glasgow, and Rio. 5.) I feel incredibly lucky to have my job, and all the opportunities its created-see 2,3, and 4. 6.) I was a social worker at a nursing home before flying, and witnessed a horrible cover-up of a mistake that resulted in a fatality. When I demanded the family be told the truth, I was threatened, bullied, and intimidated daily by corporate until the day I resigned. When I attempted to find the medical documents, they had been destroyed. It haunts me still 17 years later, and I pray daily about it. 7.) I love my company, and often defend it when co-workers complain about. Depending on the situation, I may even school them on how good we have it, and what its like to truly be bullied by a company.-see 6. 8.) As much as I love my job, Ive been getting homesick lately, and am considering a 3 rd career. 9.) I dreamed I was in a plane crash the night before I reported to flight attendant training. 10.) I used to absolutely love baton twirling, and practiced up to 12 hours a day. It paid off when I became a featured twirler in college. 11.) I wouldnt exchange the happy childhood my parents provided for all the money in the world. I love them.
