I find it disturbing how local radio is 100% on board with promoting bigger named bands who come to the area. The majority of bands do not promote these shows at all. The venue is responsible for that. Radio stations will plug away at these shows as they come to town...ad after ad running all day long...local bands are out there working hard to get people interested in a scene...but are playing to increasingly smaller crowds. What can be done to convince local radio and venues that it is good for business to actually do some promo for even LOCAL artists...it is a win win. Bands get a broader local following and venues get revenue by people showing up spending money. No brainer...
