I find it odd (I couldn’t bring myself to say I find it funny, because I don’t), that it seems as if people are inflamed to keep the standards of the constitution in play for the United States of America. You don’t have to go any further than the preamble (THE VERY FIRST LINE) to know that we’ve turned from a nation in hopes of providing a blanket of security over all citizens to a nation chopping itself into tiny pieces like a butcher gone mad. We’re not interested in taking care of one another - only ourselves, OUR ideas, OUR ideals, OUR beliefs, OUR money & so on. A nation of some fighting to remain under God (who NEVER makes the salvation of one dependent on the actions of another, by the way), while working harder & harder to put aside everyone else for the sake of self… the same self that God tells us to put aside in service of others? It’s confusing. You can read through the constitution & find quite a few ways that we have strayed from it (everyone’s equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness, taxes shall be uniform across the United States, no appropriation of taxes for armies to last more than 2 years, citizens entitled to ALL privileges of other states). Just like everything else, including the Bible, the constitution can be a document of truths, ideals & lessons for the masses, but it is still open to interpretation and perverted for the advancement of some above others. Even things that are inspired by God can be screwed up by us mere humans… even good people, with good hearts make blunders. They cannot know the mind of God, they cannot speak for God & they cannot anticipate the hatred with which their words or their actions can be taken or used. Read it - see if you can spot the same things I did that may have been a good idea (or great idea), but has been abandoned, changed, abused, perverted, or ignored. I wish people would stop throwing this document around like the weapon many people use the Bible for… I don’t believe that’s what they were intended for.
