I find it very interesting that Roach is selling spiritual partnership again. When I first heard him do lectures about the ancient tantra tradition in Tucson, I thought it was amazing that he was sharing the stage with his spiritual partner, Lama Christie. He gave her a forum in which to speak, which is rare for a man to do so. On David Chapmans blog he writes, Michael Roach and Christie McNally, before they blew up, were trying to make Buddhist tantra work in 21st century America. I think that is terribly important for Buddhism, and for America. At one time, I, too, feel they are lovolutionizing Buddhism by making spiritual partnership the source of Enlightenment, giving equal power to the feminine side of life. Then the tragedy happen at the Diamond Mountain three-year retreat that ended up with the death of Lama Christies new husband. Diamond Mountain has a new website. There is no mention of Lama Christie on it. Even though she was its co-foundress, she has been deleted from its history. This is classic patriarchal behavior. The one who controls history controls the present. History is all about power. Love might be a footnote, but nothing more. Do we want to save the world? If so, then the story to record are the love stories, both the negative and positive ones that rule over our lives.
