I finished reading 1968: The Year That Rocked the World by Mark - TopicsExpress

I finished reading 1968: The Year That Rocked the World by Mark Kurlansky, a much better and more inclusive look at the events of 1968 than the one by Charles Kaiser I read a few weeks ago. That one focused on American politics and the belief that American young people came close to changing the world through culture, voting, and campus activism. This one showed how the American youth was just one segment of a global unrest that was met by reactionary forces in France, Mexico, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. Kurlansky is also very good at zooming in for close-up views and then zooming out for context. So much happened that year that I didnt know about. Thanks to Danny Fafoglia for the excellent recommendation.
