I fully endorse the comments of the Prime Minister with regard to scrapping the Carbon Tax and on Thursday morning during Private Members Business I propose to move the following motion That the Legislative Council of Western Australia:- (a) condemns Federal Labor and the Greens failure to confirm their support for a repeal of the Mining Resources Rent Tax (MRRT) and the Carbon Tax in the Australian Senate; and (b) calls on all successful candidates in the half Senate election to be held on 5 April, 2014 to act in the best interests of Western Australia by voting to repeal these anti WA taxes at the earliest possible opportunity. I am very confident that I will get a lot of support for this motion from our side of the Chamber. Tune in and watch the debate it might be lively.
