I got a call this morning from my bank, Wells Fargo, saying that there was fraud on my account. Which was shocking because I have a fraud alert on my credit. I no longer use online banking and a have a secret password the bank is suppose to ask to verify it is me. Her is the story: A MAN called into the bank 5 times with my ss#, name and other personal information. He spoke to a representative and then a supervisor, neither of which ever asked for my secret password. He managed to change my phone numbers on file and get a new ATM card sent to an address in Ohio (I have lived at the same address for 12 years!!!) Luckily someone over at the Bank finally decided something was fishy (I guess the mans voice didnt constitute a red flag) and called me. While he didnt get any money from me I now have to go into the bank and change all my accounts. This is the 3rd time in 12 months. Have you ever been a victim of fraud or had your identity stolen? barb
