I got a text last night from a client. Her old trainer (from another studio) sent her an inappropriate text pic... I wish I could say Im surprised but this crap is not unheard of in the PT industry. You cant do everything to ensure this wont happen to you but you can: - interview your coach (find out their qualifications, do you and (s)he communicate well?, how would they address your concerns/goals?, ...) - ask for proof that theyre a good fit (before and afters, written testimonials, programs theyve written with detailed explanations, ...) - ask for past or current clients as a reference. Treat your trainer like theyre interviewing for a job and theyll treat their client like its more than a job or theyll GTFO. Every great coach would go out of their way to prove to you if they believe you and they to be a good fit. Not because theyre desperate, but because legitimate coaches have a PASSION. And that makes people work hard for what they do.
