I believe in positive thinking and we have been practicing it in - TopicsExpress

I believe in positive thinking and we have been practicing it in our home. The first week of school we were running late a couple of days. It was so frustrating and it didnt set Matthew up to have a great day. We would drive down the road and talk about how late we were. It just really set a negative tone. So, after a couple days of this negative talk I decided that we needed to change something (besides getting out the door on time...lol). We began to replace, Hurry Matthew. We are going to be late. to We are going to be on time. We would sing this little song all the way to the school. Matthew would echo my little song and rhyme the word time. Its become a fun little thing for us to do. So, yesterday we were running late. I was so frazzled. We focused on how late we were going to be. We didnt sing our little song. It just wasnt a great morning. I truly believe it set the mood for the day. When I picked Matthew up from school he announced that he was sorry but he received yellow at school for his behavior. Generally he is green or above. Yellow means he got in trouble for something. I believe he would have done much better had he had a more peaceful morning. Learning a lesson from yesterday...today we decided to go back to our positive song. Yes, we were pushing it and were barely leaving enough time to get to the school without being late. However, we chanted our little, We are going to be on time song. Making every minute positive. We even sang along with our new favorite song while driving down the road.
