I got the number 13 1. My dad was transferred to Greeneville Tn when I was a Senior in High School and I moved in with my grandparents until graduation. Its a time that I look back on and so glad I had that one on one time with them. 2. I never considered having children until my Doctor Told me I couldnt. I was pregnant 4 times in 5 years. showed him! 3. I was a stay home Mom for 13 years. Most rewarding and hardest thing Ive ever done. 4. Had a DWI in 1984. Changed my life and probably kept me alive. 5. Ive been bowling since I was 14. And currently bowl on a Wednesday morning league. Its a sport that you can play till the end. I played softball until 48 and miss it very much. 6. I was such a wallflower in school. A tomboy and never quite fit in. High school released me from those insecurities. 7. Im a college drop out and only in the last 10 years got over that. I think thats why Ive been so adamant that my children get a degree. 8. I lived in Chapel Hill NC...home of UNC when I was 19. What a great year! 9. My middle child Carly had Trisomy 13 syndrome. An extra chromosome on the 13th pair. She died at 5 weeks. 10. I played a joke on Neil Wallace when we were in 5th grade. I stole his ice cream sandwich. I had every intention of giving it back however things escalated fast and the teacher got involved. I never said a word out of fear and ate the ice cream. My family has ribbed me about this for years. Since the inception of Facebook, I apologized to Neil. He remembered the incident and got a big kick out of it. 11. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. We are a very close and loving family. We never spat or hold a grunge. We have very loving parents. This has filtered down to our children. We re the Guthrie Clan and very proud of it. My sisters and I refer to ourselves as the Guthrie Girls and we talk about getting a tattoo of a G all the time. We will see. 12. Ive always been a very happy person. Im the happiest Ive ever been. 13. I could eat Italian food every day. Im also a pretty darn good italian cook. I made vodka sauce Friday nite and Veal Piccata Monday. I wing my recipes most of the time. I was married to a Culinary Institute of America graduate. He cooked for many dignitaries and famous folk all over the states. He taught me nothing about cooking. I learned on the job(when I married). I enjoy cooking but not everyday(who does?). My mother shared her home cooking recipes(all verbal). I think its a gift and my family all has the food gene...we love to eat but fortunately none of us are obese.
