I got the number 7, so here are 7 things that most people don’t know about me. Like or comment and Ill give you a number so you can write about things most people dont know about you. Or not. But Ill give you a number. 1) When I was little, I was afraid of our basement. So, when I had to go down there I would sing. I figured that way, if any would-be kidnappers heard me, maybe theyd decide not to kill me, instead putting me in some sort of show so they could make money off of me. I figured at least Id be alive. 2) Almost every night, I ask Jack to check the stove for me so that I dont get stuck there obsessively and anxiously checking that its off. He does so willingly. That is love. 3) I was a bed wetter until, gosh, not sure. 4th grade? 5th, maybe? Be patient and kind with those kids. Its not their fault and it aint easy. Also, what took the world so goddam long to come up with pull-ups that look and feel like real underpants? 4) When I went to Europe at the age of 21, there was one afternoon in Italy when I went off by myself to explore the olive groves in the countryside. I ended up climbing up and sliding down steep hills in a sort of forest, at one point stopping, by just barely catching my foot on a tree root. It was just before a large ledge-type drop that probably went down about fifteen feet. I felt just as much like Indiana Jones at that moment as I used to when Id play in the woods with Gwen behind her house. 5) I have twice almost severed my thumb with a paper cutter at school. I have a scar that I show my students as a warning. 6) Carrying a bat bag onto and off of the bus wed take to high school softball games made me feel like a pro ballplayer. 7) I once smashed a coffee cup onto the floor at Sweetwaters on Stadium because a friend who worked there told me it would feel good and relieving. He was right.
