In early December, HISD will hold a series of town hall meetings – via telephone and in-person – to gather feedback from teachers, school leaders, parents, and additional community members on HISD’s approach to teacher development, appraisal, and compensation. We need your voice at the table. Feedback gathered during the town hall meetings will inform the district’s Professional Educator Compensation and Support (PECAS) Committee, as well as discussions with the superintendent and the Board of Education about the district’s approach to supporting and rewarding teachers. About Telephone Town Halls The telephone town halls are remote meetings that participants can join via telephone or cell phone. The district will place automated calls to registrants, who can then participate in an informative discussion from the convenience of their home or office. A moderator will guide the discussion, and callers will have the opportunity to ask questions or voice their input using an automated system.
