I had a comment yesterday that I am TOO SHINY for Melbourne, that - TopicsExpress

I had a comment yesterday that I am TOO SHINY for Melbourne, that perhaps this grimy city is not ready for what I have to offer and Maybe I should go somewhere else... What a polite way to slam somebodys life journey, completely cut down the value of their work AND under-estimate the people of the city in which we live. Firstly, Do not mistake being shiny for being inauthentic, egoic or fluffy. I was not born with a silver spoon of happiness in my mouth. I have worked very hard at it. I have lived through the reality of violence, trauma, abuse and disempowerment. I have known the depths of depression, pain and loss. And I have CHOSEN and DEDICATED myself to rising above it and creating my own life blueprint. As a arts therapist and through my Embodied Voice program I work with people to also make major life transformations and to find their inner shine. I am passionate about supporting personal evolution and positive change in a REAL way, WHY then should I NOT represent and embody that in my own music?? I REFUSE to believe that Melbourne is not ready for that! Everywhere I go I find people receptive, supportive and embracing. I see a growing community of conscious people breaking through their own barriers, opening their hearts and minds, READY to rise up and working together towards a positive world. We need more light and shine EVERYWHERE in the world. Sorry if it CONFRONTS you, but I am not leaving!!
