I had a fabulous time last night sitting in picking guitar with Sonny and the Hurricanes as we backed up Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame member Bev Munro during his weekly Thursday night set at the New West Hotel. Until I got there I had no idea another Hall of Fame legend would be in the audience. Canadian Country singer Joyce Smith was there with husband George Myren and their band, including former guitarist Redd Volkaert, who moved to the USA years ago, and has played with many greats such as Clinton Gregory, Brae Paisley, and Merle Haggard. Redd said he will be doing a set today with Danny Hooper at Big Valley Jamboree.
