I had a looong dream last night about a couple with 4 kids, girls, aged ~4-6-8-10. They lived in a house that was assailed with demons. At some point, the father appeared eyeless & lidless, but as he and the wife were oblivious, they did not notice - and the older kids, who were more perceptive, could but werent certain that it wasnt THEY who were under some psychotic influence. Ultimately, one child was lost, I think the 8-y.o., as things unraveled, and the 10-y.o. tearfully apologized to her too-late-to-be-of-much-use-in-realizing father that she wasnt the child he wished she would be (in the dream, it was understood she was sorry for his expectations and disappointment, not with what she was). The eldest then sacrificed herself that she might help her parents (at this point, it seems only he father remained) to fight the forces as it destroyed the house and their lives violently - it was a lost cause, it seems - and allow the two remaining siblings to barely escape the house. The youngest was the first to escape, and blessedly one of the remaining sisters was able to escape the madness to the door to grab her hand and get away while their sister called to them from the house to get away and not worry about her. It was a very troubling dream - very vivid, and very creepy. The kind of creepy that if you were standing on the curb youd almost want to hesitate and hope the trouble abated on its own. I awoke, half expecting a devil to be sitting before me, and proclaimed that I would always fight the devil and its forces, but Id also continue to pray for them - as I do for all creatures, great and small, near and far. This is a war, it is always a war, but you should always pray for your enemies that they may find redemption and salvation and an end to their own torments. The other thing I wanted to mention is that this psychosis - perhaps a variant of the stockholm syndrome - wherein many refuse to acknowledge the very real evils in this world destroying lives, communities, cities, states, countries, and even continents, is much like that of the parents in the dream, who refused to upset things as they were by confronting the very real threat to themselves and their families, with disastrous results. Sure the islamic state is scary, so are cannibal clowns, but if YOU run then someone else will be caught up in their wave ... and you cant run forever, and not from your conscience. Are you listening, lefties?
