Heres a suggestion Ive been meaning to pass along. The timing might be ideal for this sort of effort. Many of us live in small communities with rather vibrant local newspapers that might be published weekly or bi-monthly. However, those publications are often well read because they tend to cover immediate community concerns and goings-on that are often ignored by larger county or regional papers. And they are apt to publish longer letters ... or even lend you solid space for a larger piece you might write. My own local is very accommodating. And their rules are quite bendable. Trust me ... they are great sources of communication. And lots of you are very nimble writers ... with unusual Common Core knowledge. One caveat. Remember your audience. Dont kill em with info too deep for their base understanding. You wanna win their attention with the simple and move on from there.
