I had a rare and extremely cool experience this evening. Three of my students wrote an essay to be able to attend a speaker series event in Rancho Mirage, featuring Ashley Judd. All three wrote fabulous essays and were selected. I was fortunate enough to chaperone and meet Ashley. The kids were introduced to her and she was presented with their essays which she actually mentioned during her talk. Afterwards there was a reception and I asked her to talk to them about her favorite novels in high school and college. Answer- Tender Is the Night.
