I had a similar experience, but it was with a horse. We were staying on a farm and after just over 15 weeks into my pregnancy I was miscarrying my baby. The birth took a few days, and I would often sit in the sun out on the lawn and cry. It was close to a pasture where a mare stayed. Sometime during those few days we noticed she was standing in the corner with her head down. She did not move and from what we could tell, she didnt eat or drink. My baby passed, and by that time it had been a few days that she had stood there. I still wasnt convinced it had anything to do with what I was experiencing, but I was concerned. I approached the horse and she made soft sounds... I am not a horse lover by any stretch of the imagination but I stood and talked and cried with her several minutes. I swear to this day she cried too. I told her it was okay, and that I would be okay. After a while she suddenly tossed her head, turned quickly and went galloping around the pasture. I learned shortly afterwards that she had given birth before but her foal had died. In grief, most of the time all we need in that moment is someone to just sit with us. To just hold our space. I never would have imagined I would receive comfort during a miscarriage from a horse, but I did.
