I had a very powerful week ending Saturday and spreading on into today! Last Sunday I went to hear Goldie Hawn last Sunday. Her presentation was wondeful as she spoke about the effect of laughter on our health and, particularly, on our brain. She had everybody laugh just to show that you felt better. Then some deep breathing to help our brains out! Well, that was a perfect lead-n to the Magnificent Mind presentation by Dr. Daniel Amen. I cannot begin to describe how poweful this workshop was!! Dr. Amens work on Brain Health and Brain Scans is revolutionary and transforming! He was able to make the tie in of Unhealthy Brains to Mental Illness, Obesity, ADD, Violent and/or strange behavior. He share with us the importantance of that one organ to all the rest of the body. We learned that it requires the greatest portion of the required nutrients of the body. My, my, how we do cheat our brains and, hence, our body of its needs....(I thought to myself...I sure am glad I drink Wheat Grass Juice periodically). Further, after all the tie ins to our social ills, Dr. Amen told us how to improve the health of the brain and show pictures of brains that became healthy again or improved tremendously to give a quality of life that was never expected. All of us came away with much food for thought about how to help ourselves beyond our wildest expectation and live the abundant life God wanted for us and prepared us to enjoy as his creations! Dr. Amen has a contract with the NFL to apply his research and findings with those members who have suffered brain trauma or damage to begin the healing process. You can find him on the internet and see the books and research he has done. He has Healthy Brain Scanning Centers spreading across America and the world. This should go a long way to transform our world. Susan Taylor and the Panel of Doctors spoke to and answered select questions from 1,000 women who attended the African American Womens Health Forum yesterday. Just think....all this was free to the public, sponsored by Integris Health. Thanks to them and all the volunteers who makes these services free to the public! You just cant beat it! Susan Taylor was blown away by the forum, the attendees and...just the idea of it. You dont want to miss all this valuable information...but most of all, YOU (WE) NEED TO TAKE ACTION! We were not created to sit still or become statues! Thats whats on my mind!
