I had an incredible morning racing Tinman today. No PRs here as my training volume and intensity are way down. Racing is so much bigger than PRs. It is all about the people. You see so many people of different ages, shapes, and sizes who test their willpower and have incredible determination. It makes me smile. Today was even more special as a friend of mine who is a female in the 55-59 age group completed her first triathlon this morning. Her incredible will, determination and spirit took her to the finish line. Just months ago she was terrified of the ocean and could not tread water, breast stroke or freestyle. Today she can do all three and she can call herself a triathlete!! Another incredible friend escorted her and reminded her she could do it for all 750m (approx 1/2 mile) of the swim. I am blessed to know such incredible people:)
