I had laughed at him when he had said love happens only once. I had laughed because I was just out of a failed love-affair and I was very determined that I will fall in love, again. But oh, that wise old monk! How much I had hated him that day for his audacity! He had laughed back at me, a loud draconian laugh it was; and said: Child, love happens only once. If you have fallen in love with someone in the true sense of it, never ever will you be able to relive it, again. You will like people all right, but you wont be able to love them, ever... I pretended to ignore him but he continued ...Its only replacements afterwards. No love. And dear child, if you ever get a thought in the time to come that youve fallen in love again, I want to tell you that either youd be fooling yourself for your convenience or you were not in love in the first place. Cause love, dear child, is like your first dive inside the deep ocean; once you are in, youll swim deeper and deeper. Youd want to lose your ways and enjoy wandering in there aimlessly, youll at times feel like swimming out of it but youll keep diving back in it and even if you find yourself out of it, you wouldve unknowingly left the most soulful part of yourself in there. You can never get over it. And you can never relive it; the first hand experience, in its purest form, in the true sense of it- LOVE, that is. I had shouted on the top of my voice to shut him up. I had warned him to watch his ways and let me be. I had tried harder to deny to accept the truth that was being told to me that day because I had found it hurtful and nonsensical and because I was then young and stupid. Today, when I am standing on the feet of this vast blue ocean after my second dive, all wet and content; Im pondering over the words of that old wise monk, I can clearly see how true was he! I dived and the water was cold, just like the first time but I didnt get any shivers like I did during my first dive. There wasnt any excitement this time, no feels, just the memories of the first time which couldnt be relived. #OneLove #ReminiscingBunny
