I had the pleasure of attending church this morning where I witnessed a politician praying for wisdom, a church praying for a missionary heading to the mission field, spouses praying for their marriages, and broken sinful people asking for forgiveness, direction, and purpose in life. The church is not perfect but Jesus is and He desires a relationship with each of us. The pursuit of selfish gratifications, passions, pleasures, and ego apart from God will always disappoint. The world has very little to offer other than a life of repeated failures, selfish pride, disappointments, and ultimately slavery.
