I had the privilege to meet Dr. Aruna Tummala, a psychiatrist trained at The Medical College in Milwaukee who has opened an Ayurvedic Wellness Center in New Berlin, WI. I spent yesterday afternoon with her and toured her Center. It is beautiful and has amazing energy. She has two certifies Ayurvedic doctors who provide services there and they are open 7 days a week! She is one of the most authentic physicians I have met. She is a holistic psychiatrist and brings nutrition, lifestyle and integrative modalities to her clients. My hope is that she will join The Ommani Center in the near future so we can add these important services to our care and help patients safely reduce the number and doses of their psychiatric medications and further educate them about lifestyle and its influence on mental and emotional health. Until then, I would highly recommend you explore the Ayurvedic framework for chronic ailments. It is quite complex but makes perfect sense. The website briefly explains this 5000 year old tradition and for those of you who know of Deepak Chopra, he opened an Ayurvedic healing center in San Diego nearly 2 decades ago. It is a thriving practice. The rates of services at the Santhigram Center are the most reasonable that I have seen.
