I half expected this would follow!! After a book bucket, its time for a movie bucket. After being nominated by many a friend, I finally decided to once again take a plunge into the impossible. Since it is a movie list, I am trying to avoid naming good movies that are adaptations of literary works. Hence something like One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest is not in the list. The list is in no particular order of preference> 1) Nayok: (Mr Ray has directed a series of masterpieces, but somehow I am most hooked to this one.) 2) Ajantrik (I may not be best equipped to fully appreciate Rittik Ghatak, but the ending of this movie always leaves me a bit numb.) 3) Pans labrynth (My introduction to Del Torro. The visuals, the concept, was very new to me and had me completely hooked. Second viewing does not lessen the awe.) 4. The matrix Trilogy (I guess every member of our generation has seen, mulled and discussed this trilogy. Enuff said.) 5.Amelie: Never been a fan of sweet romantic stuff, but this movie has something really special in it.) 6. 25th Hour (part of my Edward Norton addiction phase. The movie IS GOOD) 7. The Dark Knight: (A comic book based movie that transcended into being one of the best exploration of the eternal good vs evil debate. And then they dared to ask Why so serious?) 8. Hero (Chinese) (Roshomon meets crouching tiger... the style, the storyline, the action....a total visual treat) 9.E.T. (who could forget the eternal favourite? in an age where aliens mean invading military superior forces, this one movie about friendships across planetary borders is a beacon of hope.) 10. Kingdom of Heaven (the futility of wars, of religious conflicts, morals and values....and it has a historic setting with knights and swords and castles....perfect). as per my libertarian norms, I impose this on no one :D
