I hate posting novels, but friends, look out for these telephone scams going on: I got swindled today on the business line. Some guy called pushing their catalog on me and saying there were sending it to my attention along with a home depot gift card to show their appreciation. They then asked if we were using a certain kind of light bulb to which I replied no and said we use regular flood light bulbs. They then said they were going to include a half case of flood lights for our building along with the catalog to get us started for the new year and thank you so much for my order... ...WAIT... I never said I was ordering a half case of flood lights. After I pointed this out to them and that they JUST said they were going to give this to us, this smug jerk said Oh no, you said you were gonna help me out and order this to help me out. and Well hold the invoice due in February for the new year. After I repeatedly told him that I did not want to order anything, this son of a gun says Thank you and hangs up the phone. Of course, nothing is free but Im usually very careful and pick up on the cues of whos a legit business and whos a scam artist, but this one was too fast for me. So what do I do if (When) I receive a half case of light bulbs that I dont want and a bill I have no intention of paying?
