I have a chocolate lab. I have a black lab. My family is white. What the hell people? It wasnt a matter of race until society made it so. It was about an officer who got the shit beat out of him by a teenage person who was going for a gun and defended himself the way he is taught to defend himself in the academy and on the streets and from experience. Those who scream racism are feeding the cause. I did not sit in that courtroom today but heard some of the evidence brought forward by the news. I saw pictures of this mans mangled face. I also saw pictures of this teenager in a graduation robe and thought of my own two boys. Not once did I see a white cop and a black thug. Only people. Facts and evidence were presented and a jury of our peers decided the outcome. It is okay to feel that this decision was unjust, just as it is okay to feel like this decision brought justice. Until we change our society into one that doesnt look at color, we will continue, as a nation to spin our little hamster wheel of hatred. The rioting and looting downright infuriates me! This brings shame to the decent people of Ferguson and stereotypes back to the forefront of societal norms thus acting as a catalyst that feeds the hamster who spins the wheel.
