I have a concern that needs to gain some quick traction if we are to save our consumptive water right from McKays near Hathaway Pines. My research shows an 8,000 acre foot water right under the North Fork agreement. CCWD does not use all of the water allocated along the Highway 4 corridor and it may cause a loss of much of our future water use if we dont begin to work with other agencies and develop the need. This must be done by Dec 2015. Blue Lake Springs Mutual could use the water, Utica Water and Power could use the water, This is income lost to our ratepayers because CCWD in the past has had no desire to work with these other agencies to sell the water or in other ways use it here in the county. What will be the result of losing this water? It flows to New Melones, becomes part of the Central Valley Water Project and eventually ends up in Los Angeles or the ocean. By the way, the reservoirs along the Grape Vine serving Los Angeles are full.
