I have a few words for those out their filling your kids heads about common core and how ridiculous it is..... First, educate yourself ...Look up common core and NY, youll find that these standards have been implemented into the curriculum for the past five years which means your & your child have been dealing with it for half a decade. This year is merely the first FULL implementation of it. Second, educate yourself on ELA state testing and Regents. Youll discover that this has been the norm in our public schools for close to 20 years (respectively)! Regents testing & ELA havent gone away with common core. It simply has been modified. Now that youve educated yourself, stop pressing your opinions on your children without proper background knowledge, because if I have to give one more ZERO because the student says common core is stupid instead of answering the question, the next step besides my screams will be your kid being forced into a remedial class because of the ill educated soap box you decided to stand on. Thank you.
