I have a lot of memories from my first six years as a child growing up in the Philippines. One very familiar memory is the sound of a fan quickly opening and closing with the flick of the wrist. Ffffftttth....ffffttth. All the women carried fans. It was part of their outfit. I remember my grandmother making a paste from some cooked rice to use as glue to adhere the cloth to the wood of her favorite fan when it came apart. It worked! She was a force to be reckoned with. I feel her strength and energy anytime I need it. Relax Deck card of the day: The Fan Because it can be used to rekindle fire, the fan is symbolic of our life force or spirit. Remember that even when we are at our lowest ebb, our vitality can always be fanned to life again through the power of positive thinking. Start to think in a positive way and you will immediately experience an upturn in fortune, even if it is more a matter of attitude than of concrete change.
