I have a positive update today.... I knew part of this yesterday, after the tough news in the morning, but didnt want to say too much then. The Cardiologist came in after the Critical Care Drs had been in,and said that he felt that Keith was a good candidate for an LVAD---Left Ventricular Assisted Device, which is inserted right into the left ventricle and helps the heart work better and make it stronger. They dont do that here,so he said U of M and Cleveland Clinic do,but thought because we live in Michigan would make sense to go there He said it would take a while to get in touch with the Drs there,so I was so hopeful ,but a little nervous, but already had people praying about the options from ealier in the morning. Not an hour later, they said the Cardiologist was on the phone for me, he said he had already gotten in touch with U of M, and they agreed to take Keith and also thought he was a good candidate and too young not to try this!!!!! Prayers answered!!! But U of M had to have Oncology say that Keith was going to do well from the Whipple he had done,and especially since chemo had been stopped, but the CT did come back clear 3 weeks ago. The Oncologist came in last night,who had never seen Keith, and I wasnt very impressed and got a little defensive, I said so we finally have a positive thing that might help him and you dont agree???!! The more we talked and his sister asked if he could just give a positive report for them,he must have, because the Critical Care Dr came in this morning and said they were all in agreement!!! I fully believe this IS our answer to prayer and because of the way evertything has fallen into place......We dont know how soon,it could still be today, or a few days,as they have waiting lists too----It is a big surgery,and Keith knows and understands and is in favor of it too....My heart is so full of PRAISE today!!! Please continue to pray that Gods will is done and we just keep our eyes on Him to do the right things~~~We are still on this Journey and are continually thankful that you are all with us.....
