I have always been struck by coincidences. Nothing got my attention more than the Lincoln / Kennedy likeness of facts. Everyone has seen them, but I placed them below as a reminder. I heard someone say once that the only real coincidence would be if there were no coincidences at all. (Ive never figured out of that even makes sense). Chance encounters seem to happen often to me. How about you? Seldom do I travel to a far away place that I dont run into someone I know, but most of the time its someone that knows someone I know. (Thats a mouth full) Sitting in a barber chair, the guy cutting my hair knew people I know in Austin. Or like sitting on the a plane coming from a trip to South Africa and strike up a conversation with a guy that I had known his brother several years. An employee of the City of Austin. This traveler was going home to Dallas. Walking down a wide corridor in Gatwick Airport south of London and looked over to see a guy I knew. Same thing has happened In airports all around the country. I really dont know that many people but all have been chance encounters I guess. Im not like a politician that has made it my life to meet and glad hand with people for a living. Madeline was on a mission trip to Costa Rica a few years ago. Visiting with a lady that was a missionary assigned to there, they discovered that we lived about block from her mother and dad in south Austin for years. She had grown up there also, living shortly before we moved there. You ask why am I thinking about this? I was taking a shower earlier and it made me think of something that happened a year or so ago. I may have already mentioned this incident, but oh well here goes again. I had a steam shower installed before we moved into the Corpus Christi house. I equipped it with an aroma therapy system. Its a reservoir that holds eculytus oils, with a pump that injects drops of oils into the steam as its generated, then it travels to the shower. I was having some difficulties with it, so I called a fellow in California that was the rep that I had bought the system from, over the Internet. We visited awhile and he, noticing I was from Texas (may have been the accent) ask what part of the state I was from. When I told him Corpus Christi, he said he had visited Texas not long before. Fredricksburg I believe he said. I told him i was familiar with that area, that I grew up not too far from there in a little town of Marble Falls. He said really, I have a cousin that he grew up with and was very close to that lived in MF. His cousin was Carol Collier. We had a good discussion about her and others he had met through her. So thats how we got to this subject. All because I took a steam shower.
