I have always had this urgency to spread my love of music. Music is life to me; it carries me through. Without it, I wouldnt feel alive and I would have no place to escape during those moments when I need to be happy, safe, comforted, joyous or, even sad. Starting today I am going to start making a few recommendations that, I hope, you will search out for yourselves, and, in turn, feel the same emotions that make this music touch my soul. And remember: I love all kinds of music! First off, a selection from John Boswell, a brilliant and under appreciated pianist. I first heard Johns music in a gift store in Palo Alto California in the late 80s. I have been hooked ever since (check out all his cds, as well as one of the best Christmas albums ever recorded: Festival of the Heart). John has an extraordinary sense of melody and deep emotional intensity (why is he not writing films scores?). Whats great about his music is it is very difficult to find a favourite song, everything is exceptional. First off check out Ill Carry You Through from the album Trust with its beautiful cello intro.
