I have an idea for a Superhero comic/novel series: The Ages, in which a superhero dons a persona for each of the major eras of comics. A writer finds out he is slowly developing powers and decides to become a hero. At first, due to his powers only giving him slightly heightened senses and agility, he becomes a Golden Age/Pulp style vigilante. At the end of the first book, which ends with him beating the villain, a mafia crime boss, but also results in a busload of hostages being blown up, the writer contemplates suicide, not being able to live with the guilt that his power trip resulted in the loss of innocents, he discovers that his powers have grown to the point where he has super strength and the ability to fly along with his heightened senses and agility. Determined to rebuild himself, he burns his golden age vigilante clothes and rechristens himself as a superhero in the style of the Silver Age. As the books would go on, he would face more and more powerful threats, like actual supervillains.
