I have been discussing things with a few people lately and its made me think alot. People always say Those who dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it. While that is true there is one important fact left out of that statement. People need to learn real history not the history that is in history books for the most part. I will explain what I mean there. History books are written by the winners of most every event. That is why 99% of the time good always triumphs over evil. Sadly that is not the true case in life and history. Groups always see themselves as the good guys therefore when they are the winners its written that the good guys won. Now if people would learn history not from just history books but from personal account tales, auto biographies, and etc... Then it opens history in a whole different light. I will give some examples and yes they may not be Politically correct or even popular. However they are things I have learned from years of having a passion for real history and events. First off is the American Civil War. While history books and the general public consensus is that it was the North fighting the South over slavery. However that is largely incorrect. As if you research personal accounts, stories, and even photographs. You will find some major errors in the traditional story of it. Like there was actually more racism in the armies and government of the North than the South. Some examples are in the North Black soldiers did fight for the Union however they had their own units that were segregated from the Whites and were called Buffalo Soldiers (Which is racist in itself as the name came from their hair being coarse and curly like that of a buffalo). in the armies of the South Blacks fought along side with White soldiers and in some cases even commanded them. You can find the proof in photographs of the time. Jefferson Davis who was president of the CSA actually emancipated the slaves before president Lincoln did. Though that story is harder (because it makes it harder to call him racist) to find but it can be done. One of the richest government contractors for the Confederates was a Black named Horace King. he was a man who contracted for the Confederate Navy. He was also an expert engineer and became known as the “Bridge builder of the Confederacy.” One of his bridges was burned in a Yankee raid. His home was pillaged by Union troops, as his wife pleaded for mercy as the took everything. There are many more examples out there look them up if you wish. Next is WWII ( No I am not siding with the gremans) This is a case where the history books are correct and good beat evil. hitler ( lower case h because he is not worth a capital H) was and is the absolute best example of why NOT to blindly follow a political party or government. He was a complete nut ball but most of the German people blindly followed him into history. They did not question him or his actions and they even attacked those who did. This is a important lesson that many need to learn today. As right now this is happening in the USA. People of both political parties blindly follow their party and do not think for themselves. They then attack anyone who dares question their beloved party. I have had both Democrats and Republicans prove this fact many many times. Even so far as to have one say to me they did not care that the country got ruined as long as a member of their party was in control..... Wait back the hell up!!! How can someone say they dont care as long as their party wins??? That is utter insanity and a very dangerous mentality. If you could take the Country as it is now and show it to America of the past. We would have kicked our own ass. We used to stand for Freedom from oppression like we have now. We pushed for people to be free from their Governments that did the things to its people ours does now. Most recent example was the DDR (East Germany for those who dont know) go watch a movie from the 70s or early 80s and compare the DDR to us now. DDR spies and govt informants were everywhere and listened to all communications of its people.... Much like the nsa today DDR Stasi Police would arrest people for no reason and lock them away without a trial never to be seen again.....NDAA today Bottom line is America was founded by Free Thinkers people who did not just accept what the government at the time told them to do. America is supposed to be a Country where you can be anything and do what you want as long as you do not prevent others from being able to do the same. People need to be loyal to their Country and its principles NOT loyal to a Political Party. Americans are supposed to be a people who question the leaders and authority!! Not a people who sit back and let them run un checked. So people start thinking for yourselves while you still can and question our leaders.................. That is the American Country Spirit ~JW~
