I have been getting a lot of messages this week asking about what type of surgery I had last week. I had to have my gallbladder removed and they also did some other work on my stomach. They were able to do everything they to planned to do by laparoscopic surgery instead of having to cut me wide open. I did have a few complications after the surgery but they are being addressed and everything will hopefully be okay within due time. The reason for the surgery was to try to hopefully help me be able to eat regularly again. As many of you know I have been on a liquid diet for the last 3 1/2 months and have lost 60+ pounds. I am currently suffering from is what is called gastroparesis which is where your digestive muscles are either weak and or they completely stop working all together. In my case my digestive system has basically completely stopped working. They have completed several tests and tried several medications to help fix the problem but none of the test or medications helped. So the next step was to remove the gallbladder and do a couple of things to the stomach in hopes of it helping me to be able eat normal again. I have been in pretty bad pain this week since surgery and just about everything I’ve tried to eat I have thrown up. The only thing I’ve successfully kept down is Gatorade & Popsicles yummy I know. I am hoping that maybe it’s just my body adjusting to the gallbladder being gone and that it will get better soon. I see the gastro doctor tomorrow (Monday) so hopefully he will give me a diet plan to follow and hopefully I will start to be able to eat somewhat normally again very soon. It has been a rough few months for me health wise with all the other health issues I’ve been dealing with lately on top of this. But I’m very hopefully and optimistic that we will find a complete resolution very soon. Just also would like to say Thank You to everybody for the support and prayers over the last few months I am very grateful.
