I have been going back and forth between my loving country and London for the last 25 years when I was a student, then as a government officer and lastly while working in the airline industry. Now I am still clocking the mileage but with a difference; with my family, not as lonely as before. Physically; I feel different too. Then I was young and could endure the long haul flight better. Now I am entering the golden age, every bone creak, muscle sagging, taking more medical pills than my rice, short of everything including eye sight, memory, temper and endurance. I date my doctors more than my ever loving wife. I just cant stand the long flight. However, I have my own private carer traveling with me, the one who entertains my time and characters. The one who reminds me of my forgetfulness or a sudden rush of hot blood. She is my alternate medicine. However, she can be a poison too. Come the subject of shopping or wasting any of your hard earned cash, she keeps my BP graph shoots over the roof. Yayaya!!!!! Whatever my gripes, I want to enjoy my European trip. The highlight of my trip will be my older daughters graduation next 2 weeks. Quick march girl, follow your mum and dad to the ivory tower. Congratulations. I am a proud parent despite my misgiving. We have come a long way, considering our early beginning...... from the very bottom rang of financial security. We thank Allah SWT for everything. We thank and salute both sets of your grand parents who tightened the belt to educate your mum and me. Round 1 is complete. Four more rounds to go!!!
