I have been notified today by J P Hatch that the October 7 MCRPC has been moved to the County Commission meeting room following the Commission Health and Environment committee meeting. The meeting will start at 5:30p. The room can only hold approximately 95 people (although I have seen more in this room) plus commissioners and MCRPC members and the media. I sure hope Mr. Worley and the other planning commission members are doing their homework studying Article 8 which they have deferred for several months now. Since there are NO actual standards for Special Exceptions at the BZA, the citizens of Maury County are pleading to the Planning Commission to protect our county by adopting actual standards for granting special exceptions for applicants seeking to re-‐zone their property to M-‐3 Industrial District (Special). These members, which two of them are county commissioners, were chosen by our mayor in good faith to have the best interests at heart for the citizens of Maury. These standards should have been in place years ago. They MUST be voted on by the Planning Commission and moved on to the County Commission in order to establish actual standards for Special Exceptions. While the mega Mighty Dump is not on the agenda--because as of right now there is no application filed from the dump people again...yet, the Planning Commission has deferred action on Article 8 and these Special Exceptions, the time to take action is now. There is a major amendment to Article 8 that is on the agenda. The people of Maury County are depending on them. This issue is so detriment to our county and our fate lies in their hands Monday evening, Oct. 7, at 5:30p in the county commission meeting room. Let your pleas be heard.
