I have been thinking about the tragic death of Robin Williams. - TopicsExpress

I have been thinking about the tragic death of Robin Williams. Depression, like any disease, has no prejudices. Anyone can fall into its ugly clutches. Depression does not care about race or religion. It does not care if you are rich or poor, famous or unknown. Depression is a disease. One cannot just get over it anymore than one can just get over diabetes. But Like diabetes, Depression is treatable. I suffered a long period of deep, dark depression. I was luckily enough to claw my way out on my own. It would have been a lot less of a climb had I asked for help. I honestly cannot remember ever thinking about taking my own life but I believe I was not to many doorways away from that thought. If you or someone you love is suffering from depression, please seek help, there is no shame in it. If any of you ever need to talk, I am only a call away.
