I have been watching the Ken Burns series Jazz on Amazon Prime and it is wonderful. I have really needed to be reminded lately that there were, are, and always will be talented creators out there who choose to maintain their artistic integrity no matter how difficult or challenging the circumstances. They fearlessly strive to push the boundaries of their art....and fame and fortune, though nice if obtained, are not their only objectives. I have made a vow to myself to spend more time in my life seeking out people like that (i.e. writers, musicians, authors, filmmakers, etc) to enjoy, support, and even help out if I can. Lifes too short not to seek out excellence. One performance I really loved in it was this one by Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden. Both were well respected artists in their genre, but at the same time they werent afraid to have some fun doing what they loved (and thats important too!).
