Consistent with this dictum,members of the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation at Chennai celebrated the 33rd Anniversary of Sundaram by participating in the Holy Mass at St Thomas Cathedral,Santhome,Chennai on the 18th January 2014. The San Thome Basilica is one of the four churches said to have been built over the tomb of an Apostle of Christianity, the other three being St Peters Basilica in Rome,The Church of Saint James in Santiago and the Ghareh Keiseh Monastery in Iran.The local Christian belief is that Saint Thomas came to India in AD 52, was interred in Mylapore of the then Madras Santhome Church,making it an important sanctuary in the Christian liturgy. Around 750 members of the Sai Organization attended this unique event. .The All-India President,the National Vice President,Convenoof Sri Sathya Sai Trust,Tamil Nadu,Trust members,State President,District Presidents,Office bearers of Samithis and other members gathered in the church. The Archbishop of Chennai extended a hearty welcome to the members of the Sai community and Dr. Mohan,Convenor,Sri Sathya Sai Trust,TamilNadu,proposed a Vote of Thanks on behalf of the Sai Organisation thanking the Cathedral for providing such a unique platform. Significantly, after the Holy mass concluded, Sai devotees from Villupuram District belonging to the Muslim faith went to Sundaram and performed Namaz to commemorate the 33rd anniversary thus providing a practical demonstration of Babas dictum.
