I have copied the following statements from the met office so you can see for yourself as this is a developing situation and the outcome is very finely balanced. Please share. An area of rain, sleet and snow is expected to spread eastwards across the area during Boxing Day before clearing during the evening and overnight. Some uncertainty surrounds how much snow will occur, but several centimetres of snow is likely even at low levels, especially in a swathe through Wales and the Midlands, where there is the potential for an amber warning. As precipitation clears, roads could turn very icy. There is more confidence now in the track of the depression, the main uncertainty revolving around the balance between rain and snow, which depends on the intensity. Where snow does occur accumulations of 2 to 4 cm are likely even to lower levels, with more than 10 cm on high ground. There is the risk of 10-15 cm, even at low levels, parts of Wales and the Midlands being most at risk.
