I have decided its time to make this facebook announcement status...since every friend I have on Facebook I happen to like...I feel a status update is warranted. For those who knew, I have been part of an amazing journey as a gestational surrogate for an absolutely incredible, and inspiring family. What this means: I was carrying another familys babies, incubating, and growing em til they were ready to meet their family. Well, the twins decided to come early, and very unexpectedly. About two weeks ago, with my partner Craig and the parents at my side supporting me, we delivered two adorable, tiny little boys to this world. They have needed some time in the NICU to keep growing and developing some, but have thrived every step of the way and will soon be going to their home, meeting grandparents, their brother, their dog. I am recovering quite well and enjoying getting my body back (good bye heartburn and swollen extremities! Hello feet!) Their parents have been with the boys, connecting and caring for them in the NICU these past couple of weeks, and Wednesday they will be going home!! Very intense but very awesome. Thanks to everyone who gave and is giving such amazing support, life sure is something. I am feeling...lots...but mostly, accomplished, peaceful, and fulfilled.
