I have decided to stop following Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. I have found that their engagement with members of the gun culture lacks the compassion and bigger-picture approach thats needed to help make real change happen, and Ive found that theyre at times nearly as combative, snide and sarcastic as the pro-gun lobby that theyre opposing. They also dont offer much in terms of available actions. Instead I will focus on the efforts of Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action - NY/Upstate, who do a great job of exposing the ugly underbelly of the gun culture without the combative sarcasm while also offering available actions on the gun regulation front. In short - Ive decided to leave the gripe-fest behind in favor of an action-based platform.
