I have, for the most part remained silent over the last few weeks concerning recent trials and decisions made, protests, and even the comments and statuses that some people have posted. But after finding out that the shooter of two NYPD Officers took to social media prior to the killings is the final straw. This man referred to the two trials that the country has been divided over as his reason to wrap two pigs in a blanket. Does everyone not realize this isnt about color or creed, race or religion? Its hate. Pure and simple hate. Hate bred out of the negativity and anger OUR country has shown the last few weeks. I see all over the Internet, F* the police!, Cops are worthless!, Its us against them!, etc, etc, etc. On television its nothing but protests, and violence, and more angry commentary. Racial slurs, thrown back and forth. Its never ending! And now.. Two families will never see their loved ones. There you go. You have two lives for the two trials you were pissed off about. Feel better? Do you feel better that two men, sitting in a vehicle, were each shot in the head? No chance to defend themselves. Were they white? No. But they were Cops. They were pigs. They were racist. They were probably picking out the next person to pick on. Is that what everyone will say next to make themselves feel better? Where are the protests for these men?! Where is the outrage for these families?! Where is the outpouring on social media screaming for an end to Officer deaths every year?! WHAT ABOUT THEM?! I will tell you right now, I will NEVER forget the Officer my family lost to being shot! I will NEVER forget the countless families I know as part of my Survivor Family! I will NEVER forget seeing my now ex husband with our kids on his lap crying while telling them that their grandfather was dead! I will NEVER forget my family who wears their badges and may NEVER see their children again! You want to tell me that, well, those cops were jerks? Heres a reality check.. There are jerks EVERYWHERE. There are jerk waiters, bus drivers, politicians. lawyers, teachers, bums.. It doesnt matter who you are or what you do!! You will run into a jerk!! You want to take to social media and blast the police? You better have a damn good reason because right now, two families are getting ready to bury two men who DID NOTHING wrong except wear a badge!
