I have had such a great day today, with Dave and the kids, having fun. At the end of the rugby season we always take the whole team to a Steamers game. Steamers management give us enough tickets for the kids and parents to attend the game at no cost. We left this morning and took the kids to the wave pool and hydro-slide at Bayfair, and then had lunch and our prize giving in the park outside. We then went to Baypark where our kids changed into uniform and did a field march before the Steamers vs Waikato game, in front of a really supportive crowd. It was a glorious day and the kids absolutely loved it. It reminds me that everything I do is really all about the children. I want to make this district strong and vibrant - I want to do it for our kids, so they want to raise their kids here. I am so happy to live a life of service to my community, and being a team manager for kids rugby is one of the best jobs ever!
