I have had the best day with my son, Jim Lewis. He took me and my baby squirrel to a rehab place close to Cheney lake. The fish and game officer was there as he brought this wonderful couple a baby deer to raise and release; which is what they do with all their critters. They are licensed to do this but the expense for everything is out of their own pockets! Its expensive to buy formula, pet food, hay and any medications they need. Plus they have built habitats for the critters to feel at home in. These people are wonderful! Later I am going to post more about them but I got other stuff to tell :) After we dropped off the squirrel we went to Greensburg. We got chicken dinners and drove to the spot where we used to live and parked under the shade of the maple tree my dad loved and cared for ... it was all that was on that lot. We did a lot of reminiscing then went to Mullinville. I wanted to see the Veterans Memorial. I was disappointed that they stopped with the Schmidts.... nobody last names with T,U, V, W, X, Y, Z. My dad was in the Army for 4 years, in the European Theatre. His name should be on that wall. I dont know if they need people to donate to the cause to add the rest of the names or what. Anyway, it was an awesome day spent with my awesome son. :) Thank you God for this day :)
